What Web 1.0 and 1.5 concepts are about? The first thing that comes into mind is that the World Wide Web has been updated, leaving behind pervious versions in the same way that Windows has left behind 3.1 and 98 versions and now it’s about trying to replace the XP that most of us use with Vista. However, this is far from being true.
The concepts of Web 1.0 and 1.5 were born after O´Reilly defined Web 2.0 as a new paradigm compared to the way people and business were behaving on the Internet. Today, we all understand the 2.0 Web as the fact of sharing, having blogs, social networks, etc. But that is not enough to define the supposed predecessors.
These “versions” (1.0 and 1.5) are all those sites that are not based on user’s interaction for traffic and content growth. They are the business, products or personal sites where communication is only given in one direction, where the owner of the content is exclusively the owner of the site.
What is the difference between one and the other?
1.0 is defined as static websites, a deposit of html files without any program that manages its contents in a dynamic way. 1.5 web, on the contrary, has dynamic content, it can develop into being a massive portal, as the one of important newspapers.
